Meet our Team
Michael Silverman’s calming nature and healing hands make him best suited for massage. The owner of Take Care – A Therapeutic Massage Studio specializes in therapeutic deep tissue, put you to sleep swedish, (PNF) or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, trigger point therapy, advanced neck and back work, injury/rehabilitative massage and Sports Specific Therapeutic Massage. Michael is exceptionally trained in technical site specific massage. Having helped thousands of clients over the past 10 years, his intuitive nature complements his technical skill. Michael has studied at the American Institute of Massage Therapy and the San Francisco School of Massage and Bodywork as a Certified Massage Therapist and a Certified Sports Massage Therapist.
Michael is also a Certified Cupping Therapist and can perform Sports and Orthopedic Cupping techniques for those struggling with injuries and pain. Negative pressure and movement created by dynamic cupping helps Michael relieve stubborn conditions by opening up and releasing joints, connective tissue and muscles.
Michael ultimately decided that he wanted to expand his work to help not only the healthy but to also help those who may need it most, disabled adults. He opened Take Care with other like minded therapists with the desire to offer high quality, compassionate, intuitive and professional bodywork treatments. He is at his best when he can customize a balanced bodywork treatment to suit his clients needs.
Leilani Lee Silverman is the Co-Owner of Take Care – A Therapeutic Massage Studio and has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. Gaining a myriad of experiences at the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay and the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, she was excited to open Take Care with her husband, Michael Silverman.
A Pastry Chef by trade and a Financial Analyst by profession, Leilani saw the benefits of Massage Therapy when Michael started working on her brother, who has cerebral palsy, spasmodic torticollis (wry neck), mild mental retardation and epilepsy. Amazed at how extremely well Robert responded to bodywork treatments, Leilani saw the healing nature and power that massage had. Realizing the potential for Michael to help others in a similar fashion, Leilani was determined to help her husband create a space where people, able mind and bodied or not, could get restorative massages. With the combination of complementary skills, Michael and Leilani opened Take Care – A Therapeutic Massage Studio.
